Commercials

I think I’ve figured out a way to get my kids to stop wanting every darn thing they see on TV: don’t let them watch commercials! How, you ask? Well, if I can get my husband to agree to getting direct TV through expertsatellite we would be able to eliminate commercials from our kids lives by simple fast-forwarding over the commercials! I am really tired of them wanting, wanting, wanting. All I hear is, “Mom! Get in here! You’ve got to see this! Can I get this?” I’m like, “no, you cannot have the newest baby doll that can cry and pee.” I am no exaggerating to say it is almost every 10 minutes when they are watching TV. They wouldn’t even know about said baby doll if it weren’t for the commercials, but all it takes is a little brainwashing during a commercial and they are begging me for the toy 24/7. I really liked PBS because it doesn’t have commercials, but they seem to have outgrown the shows on that channel, unfortunately.
