Disclosure: I received a copy of this movie in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

There is something about a good old fashion Zombie/human relationship, especially in high school.  I wasn’t too sure I would enjoy this as much as I did with my granddaughter.  But Em loves Zombie type movies and I felt this one would be fine since it is rated G and from Disney.

I found myself tuned in during the whole movie and didn’t find it amateurish or hokey.  Emma said she would tell her friends about it coming out as she thinks they would like it too.  It has all of the normal high school goings-on (dances, cheerleaders etc) and a romantic relationship.  We both give it two thumbs up!

Three reasons you will want to watch Disney’s Zombies:

  1.  The music is awesome, and the dance moves are not only great by the living but the ‘dead’.
  2.  The characters are fun whether they are dead or undead, and you are sure to find that not only the living will catch your heart.
  3.  ZOMBIES’ themes of celebrating what makes us different and acceptance will resonate with you. Viewers will see that being different is ok and doing what you love is how you can become happy and you have to give everyone a chance, even when you are not sure about them.

Synopsis: Disney’s “ZOMBIES” is a music- and dance-filled story set in the fictitious world of Seabrook, a cookie-cutter community brimming with perky conformity 50 years after a zombie apocalypse. Today, the zombies pose no threat but are required to live in Zombietown, an isolated, rundown community infused with their unique creative spirit. When zombies are finally allowed to enroll in Seabrook High School, the charming, charismatic zombie Zed, who is determined to play football, meets freshman Addison who dreams of being a cheerleader — the ultimate form of status in Seabrook. Addison takes a lot of flak for befriending Zed and his zombie friends but comes to learn that zombies and cheerleaders aren’t so different after all. Zed and Addison work together to show Seabrook what they can achieve when they embrace their differences and celebrate what makes them a community.
