“Falling Star by Laura DeLuca” Review
I will have to be honest, I had not read any of Laura DeLuca’s books before this one. Now I wonder what I was waiting for. I really enjoy a book that is easy flowing. It is enjoyable when it allows you to get into the characters’ lives and feel like you are a part of the story. This is one of those types of books.
Lainey is your everyday girl and doesn’t like complicated. She dreams of being an author. Being fancy isn’t her ‘thing’. So it is no surprise that she has had no luck dating scene with the other things going on in her life. Lainey spends almost all of her time writing. Her time also consists of being spent with her three best friends, at Woody’s club on Friday night for karaoke. Not to mention she practices in a little white magic.
Drew is a famous actor that is tired of his high profile life. He’s tired of living life in the fast lane, the way people act, he really needs a vacation. He takes off to Wildwood, New Jersey, where he spent time when he was younger. He plans is to relax, hang out on the beach and hopefully not get noticed as a movie star. Not too long after he arrived he meets Lainey. When Drew sees Lainey on the swing, singing her heart out, he knows she’s going to be someone special.
But as time goes by, the truth comes out; what direction will Lainey decide to go? You will have to read this book to find out!
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a great love story.
