Langham Huntington Pasadena| Pet Friendly Accommodations Plus More #BHC3BloggerDay

I remember when I was just a little girl; every Sunday evening we would get ready to watch the Sunday Disney Movie. It always seemed like a special time. Watching the Disney Movie of the week was always something to look forward to and I always wondered what it would be like to stay in a ‘castle’ such as that one on the TV.

Fast forward many, many years …. A little over a week ago I received an email, inviting me to the “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 Blogger Day Event” in Pasadena, California; being held at The Langham Huntington Pasadena ! After the idea soaked in, I went and looked up where I would be staying. To say the least,  I was amazed. . The pictures compared to the ‘castle’ I had thought about as that little girl!

My flight arrived 4 hours later than originally scheduled, and with rush hour traffic I did not get to The Langham until it was dark.   When my driver dropped me off in front of the expansive hotel/valet area, I can honestly say I was speechless, nervous and a bit overwhelmed. I stood there in the opening of the hotel and thought “Boy that little girl once upon a time, never would have imagined this!”.

This is the beautiful flower arrangement that  greeted me when I walked into the lobby to check in. Isn’t it just beautiful? The floors were all marble and shiny! I felt like I was stepping into another dimension.

The Langham Pasadena sits on 23 gorgeous acres overlooking the San Marino suburbs. The many flower gardens, green grass, palm trees and fountains only enhance the beauty of the property.

The first staff to greet me was Abby at the front desk. She was personable, friendly and so very helpful. Little did I know she would be someone I would enjoy throughout my stay. My bags were taken up to my room, and when I walked in I was in awe. A king-sized bed, 4 fluffy pillows, white plush bed cover (we would never have white in our home ). A huge flat screen TV… and then a marble bathtub …I felt like I had stepped into the lap of luxury.

After soaking in the room itself and feeling a bit settled, I ventured out to find the awesome bloggers that were attending the cocktail/appetizer party being given by Disney/ClickComm. I have to admit this hotel was so big, I constantly had to follow the signs. I felt like if I could leave a trail of crumbs I would have possibly been able to find my way better. Then again the fact that The Langham is a pet friendly hotel; the crumbs might have been gone when I went to return to my room. So instead I relied heavily on the signs at each corner.

I was able to find the group in the lit courtyard in the center of the hotel. The courtyard had a cobblestone feel to it, with nice little tables & chairs. There was also a fountain with ducks in the middle, all lit up with tiny white lights. So beautiful! Since I was late from my delayed flight(s), I was not able to talk to many of the bloggers; but  made up for it when we went to eat at The Terrace afterward.

The food at The Langham? Out.of.this.world! The first meal I was able to enjoy  included: Field Greens which had Strawberries, Caramelized Walnuts, Bleu Cheese, & a Vanilla Balsamic Vinaigrette. It was so tasty! Then I wasn’t quite sure what to order; so I finally decided on the Lobster Pot Pie which had Tarragon Cream Sauce in a  Puff Pastry. It was so delicious. They also served a bread basket with bread, and flat cheese crisps and a delicious spread. (Yes I know I keep saying delicious, but I can’t think of another word to describe it.) We ended our dinner sharing dessert, great conversation and fun.

I wasn’t one of the bloggers to bring their own dog. This for me was mainly because Disney flew me from New York State to California. This was a long trip for me and I couldn’t imagine taking one of our four dogs with me. Also The Langham Pasadena pet friendly hotel is for pets up to 30 pounds; mine are all 30 pounds plus. The bloggers that did bring their little dogs also enjoyed having their pet treated like Royal Pups. From the welcome in the lobby, to the set-up in their room; each dog got their own pink plushy pillow, dog bowl complete with a gourmet meal and a special massage while they attended.

Since my stay was a bit longer than a few of the bloggers (due to flight times), I spent most of Saturday getting to know the staff. I watched how each desk person treated each and every guest like they were the first one to walk through that door. The valets met every person that drove up at their car door, always offered a friendly smile and a helping hand. I happened to go to the Gift Shop a few times that day to purchase a Diet Coke and there I got to know  Coral N. Coral was always friendly; in or out of the shop. She took time to talk to me, ask me about my life and had such a caring spirit. If you ever get to The Langham Huntington in Pasadena, make sure you visit the gift shop and tell her that Becky Willis said Hi! I also want to mention the staff at The Terrace were exceptional and made my dining experience one-of-a-kind.
