(January 3, 2018) – Two-time Academy Award® nominee (Best Actor, The People vs. Larry Flynt, 1996; Best Supporting Actor, The Messenger, 2009) and Emmy® winner (Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, “Cheers,” 1982) Woody Harrelson gives an acclaimed performance as the 36th President of the United States in LBJ, debuting February 6 on digital from Electric Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Blu-ray and DVD. LBJ brings to life both the complexity and the humanity of Lyndon B. Johnson (Harrelson) as he goes from being a powerful Senate majority leader to a powerless vice president before he becomes the president of the United States following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Directed by renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner (When Harry Met SallyMiseryA Few Good MenStand By Me), LBJ also stars Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), Academy Award nominee Richard Jenkins (Best Actor, The Visitor, 2007), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”) and Academy Award nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (Best Supporting Actress, The Hateful Eight, 2015).

Synopsis:
After Lyndon B. Johnson (Woody Harrelson) loses the 1960 Democratic presidential nomination to John F. Kennedy (Jeffrey Donovan), he agrees to be his young rival’s running mate. Once they win the election, and despite his extensive experience and shrewd political instincts, Johnson finds himself sidelined in the nearly impotent role of vice president. But, that all changes on Nov. 22, 1963, when Kennedy is assassinated and Johnson is suddenly thrust into the presidency. As the nation mourns, Johnson must contend with adversaries as he seeks to honor JFK’s legacy by championing the historic Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Directed by Rob Reiner with a screenplay by Joey Hartstone, LBJ was produced by Matthew George, Tim White, Trevor White, Rob Reiner and Liz Glotzer and executive produced by Elizabeth A. Bell, Chris Conover, Allen Mandelbaum, Julie B. May, Danny Roth, Martin Shafer, Michael Tadross Jr. and Damiano Tucci. The film was theatrically distributed by Electric Entertainment.

LBJ has a run time of approximately 98 minutes and is rated R for language.
