StinkyKids-StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors
StinkyKids are the stinKers who make the right choices! I was given the opportunity to review a copy of the StinkyKids Book- StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors, written by Britt Menzies.
This book is hardcover and has just about 30 pages of wonderfully illustrated pages with its story. The colors are bright and vibrant; sure to keep a child interested from start to finish. The StinkyKids are a group of 10 diverse characters, all with their own special qualities. This series helps children learn how to make good choices and how to be a “leader”, not a “follower” which is very important in this day and age. Children learn by what they see and are read to-so this book is excellent in helping to accomplish that goal.
StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors are about 4 characters: Britt, Hannah, Max & Julie, and their Saturday play date. It revolves around Britt having a secret that she is hoping her 3 friends will help her keep from her parents in order to have the play date. But during this story, the StinkyKids will find that sometimes kids need their parents to help in taking care of a situation more than they realize.
StinkyKids is one word-with the capital K in “kids”. There have been 2 press releases about StinkyKids In East Rutherford, NJ in July about StinkyKids winning the 2011 Silver Mom’s Choice Awards for best children’s picture book. The Mom’s Choice Awards is a prestigious awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents, and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services. StinkyKids will also have a musical coming out in New York beginning in 2012. With all of this being said I would HIGHLY recommend the StinkyKids dolls and books to anyone with children 10 and under (for the books), and from birth and up for the dolls. By the looks of things the StinkyKids are on the horizon for being the best new children’s books & dolls of 2011-2012 seasons and beyond!
