May is Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month

Not many people know that May is Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month. Normally I wouldn’t think much about this, but this past December, my now 90-year-old grandma fell and broke her hip.

She still lives alone, (by her choice) but had to have surgery and weeks of rehabilitation. Then she had to be able to go home and live on her own again with some adjustments. She is now doing great and I felt it was only fitting to share this information on my site. This way I know I have done a little on my part to help spread the awareness.
