The Boxtrolls Movie Review
The Boxtrolls Movie Review
Disclosure: I was given a copy of “The Boxtrolls” in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.
Although I received this after its release date, I hadn’t been able to see it yet, so I was very excited to watch it. When this was first announced to be in theaters I wondered how they could make a whole movie out of or about boxes. Slowly I realized that the creators were so creative. I have seen how animation is done at one of my press trips, and I can’t imagine the time it took to put this altogether.
The story is cute . It is about Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), an baby orphan, who lives with the Boxtrolls — this is a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who inhabit a cavern beneath the city of Cheesebridge. When villainous Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley) hatches a plan to get rid of the pretty harmless beings, Eggs decides to go above ground, where he meets and befriends feisty Winnifred (Elle Fanning). Together, Eggs and Winnifred devise a daring plan to save the Boxtrolls from extermination.
The movie is 1 hour and 40 min approximately. You can purchase it on Blu-ray on Amazon . I would recommend it to anyone that would love to see a cute movie with a fun story line.
