Fun Celebration Ideas for the End of Exam Season

Exams are hard. This is a self-evident truth, but one felt keenly by students across the land as exam season continues apace. Furrowed brows are sunburning in sweaty halls and conference rooms up and down the country – but not for long. An end is soon at hand, and the end of exam season is befitting a worthy celebration. What could you do to ring in the end of cramming?

Bodyboarding on the Coast

The end of exam season falls slap-bang in the middle of the best weather all year – so why not make the most of it? One of the best ways to shake off the latent nerves brought on by the bevy of exams you’ve just sat is to plunge yourself face-first into the cooling waters of the nearest ocean.

Any kind of seaside trip is a fun way to spend a day with friends, but made all the more fun when water sports are introduced. Bodyboarding is simple and easy sport for all skill levels to try, and can be hugely fun, exceedingly exciting and above all, extremely distracting.

Wild Camping in Bonny Scotland

If the seaside isn’t quite to your taste, the more intrepid of you might get a little more out of a post-exam weekend away camping. Scotland is a beautiful place to camp as it is, but local laws make wild camping completely legal – meaning you can pitch up practically anywhere, and take advantage of some of the best landscapes in Europe in the process.

A Good Old Barbecue

Of course, you don’t need to travel in order to ring in the start of your summer holidays – or, indeed, the rest of your life. Sometimes nothing can quite beat a good old barbecue in a back garden or local park with some close friends. Bring along a box of chocolates to share, as well as some delicious food to chuck on the barbie and some drinks with which to enjoy a sunny day. The ingredient that makes your barbecue burger taste that little bit better? Freedom.

A House Party for the Ages

You needn’t stop at a barbecue, either. If you’re of age and have a house free for the evening, why not invite your friends and course-mates around to celebrate your freedom from the shackles of your local 24-hour library? You could even give your party a theme, relating to the exams you’ve sat or the academic year you’ve endured together.

A prank is a good way for people to relieve stress and have some fun. It is also a good way for people to get back at someone who has done them wrong. Some of the most common prank idea is:

  • Hiding something from someone, such as a piece of clothing or an object
  • Putting something in someone’s food or drink without them noticing, such as salt or sugar
  • Pretending to be hurt and then laughing when the person comes over to help you
  • Lying on the ground and pretending to be asleep

A Trip of a Lifetime

For many of you, the end of exams also means the end of your academic journey. You’ve achieved something marvellous, and deserve to celebrate accordingly. What better way than to invest in a formative trip to Europe?
