Fun Things to Do when You and the Kids are Stuck Inside for the Weekend
If you and the kids are stuck indoors then you may feel as though you are constantly trying to keep them entertained. You may also be at a loss for things to do because at times it feels like everything costs money. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to spice up your weekend, and the kids will thank you for it.
Make Candy
Why not have fun trying to make your own candy? There are so many easy candy recipes out there for you to try and it’s fun for the whole family too. It may even be a good idea for you to make some candy and give it out to family members at a later date. This is a fantastic way for you to have fun for a few hours and it can also get the kids interested in cooking too.
Make a Great Breakfast
If you feel like you are rushing around every single morning, then you might not feel as though you have time to just sit and relax. For this reason, you should try and cook breakfast. Cook some French toast, eggs or even bacon. You might also try and make pancakes with maple syrup. Either way, making breakfast is a fantastic way for you to unwind and it also satisfies any hungry bellies that you might have.
Redecorate
Moving things around in your home can be both fun and refreshing. If you are really into decorating then why not think about rearranging your furniture or even trying to hang your pictures in different places? When you do, you will soon find that you can completely transform the look of your home without having to spend anything at all.
Camp out by the Fire
If you have a fireplace then the best time to get it lit would be in the middle of winter. Have some comfortable pillows, a few games or even a good book. When you do, you will soon be able to entertain the kids and you can also roast marshmallows if you have an open fire. Doing things like this won’t cost you any money but it can make you feel as though you aren’t just stuck in front of the TV all night.
Host Afternoon Tea
Having a tea party is a great way for you to pass a couple of hours. If you want to get fancy then consider having some sandwiches, treats, and tea. Get out the nice china and also set the table. This is a super fun activity and it is a good way for you to break up the day. If you have kids, then it may be a good idea for you to substitute tea for hot chocolate instead. When you do, you will soon find that you can come up with a world of fancy combinations that will effectively entertain everyone!
Have a Video Game Marathon
If you are having to spend the whole day stuck inside, then why not have a video game marathon? Try and complete the games that you have by 100% or even think about buying a new game for the kids. This will really help them to have fun and it also gives you the chance to spend some time together as a family. If you are stuck for choice, then why not check out drifting games and set up your own driving station? Get out an old computer chair and also think about getting a driving wheel too.
