Indignation Coming to Blu-ray/DVD 11/8 + Movie Review

Indignation

A Must See Ambitious and provocative… Indignation

I wasn’t totally sure if I would like this movie but yet I was intrigued so I decided to review it, and I am glad that I did.  I really liked it.  I never like to give much away but I will tell you what I can about it without spoiling it for you.

My review:

Indignation

Set in 1951 Indignation is about a boy/man (Marcus) going off to college from Newark New Jersey to Ohio.  He is from a kosher Jewish family where his father is a butcher and his Mom who is a homemaker.  Well, I should say it sounded like his Mom worked in the family business before and would be doing so again after Marcus goes away to school.

Marcus’s relationship is strained for the most part right before going to school as it is the time of the draft and because he goes off to school he is exempt from the draft.

Marcus meets one of his classmates Olivia Hutton, a beautiful blonde who piques his interest.  They each come from different walks of life.  Due to issues with the Dean of the school, Marcus finds himself upset and the story goes from there.

I really enjoyed their roles in the movie and it kept me interested from the start to finish.  If you give it a chance I think you will enjoy the storyline.

You can purchase on Amazon (pre-order) for November 8th  (This is an affiliate link meaning if you purchase from it I will receive a small commission.  This doesn’t affect your purchase. I am just mentioning it for your knowledge.)

Disclosure:  I was not compensated for this post.  I did receive a copy of this Blu-ray from the company above and the opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.

โ€œExtraordinary. A timeless tale of lost love and innocence.โ€โ€“Ethan Anderton, /Film indignation-blu-ray The Captivating Drama Arrives on Digital HD on October 25 and Blu-rayTM & DVD on November 8  Indignation

SANTA MONICA, CA (September 13, 2016) โ€“ Based on Philip Rothโ€™s best-selling novel, Logan Lerman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Sarah Gadon (upcoming The 9th Life of Louis Drax) star in the sizzling period drama Indignation, arriving on Digital HD on October 25 and on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD), DVD (plus Digital), and On Demand November 8 from Lionsgateโ€™s Summit Entertainment label. Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh, the film is directed and written for the screen by Oscarยฎ-nominated producer James Schamus (Best Picture, Brokeback Mountain, 2005) in his directorial debut. Hailed by The New York Times as โ€œeasily the best film made of a Roth novel,โ€ Indignation is a compelling coming-of-age story about forbidden obsessions leading to tragic consequences, set in a vividly evoked mid-century America. The film also stars Tracy Letts (The Big Short, TVโ€™s โ€œHomelandโ€) and Ben Rosenfield (6 Years, HBOโ€™s โ€œBoardwalk Empireโ€).

Passions ignite and cultures clash in this provocative coming-of-age story based on the best-selling novel by Philip Roth. After Marcus (Logan Lerman), a brilliant working-class Jewish student from New Jersey, arrives at a small, conservative college in Ohio, he becomes infatuated with a beautiful classmate, Olivia (Sarah Gadon). Their mutual attraction sparks a torrid encounter with consequences Marcus never imagined, putting his familyโ€™s best-laid plansโ€”and his own beliefsโ€”to the ultimate test.
