Lifting Jacks And Its Properties

Lifting jacks are used for leveling heavyweight equipment, lifting vehicles, and for supporting structures. They characteristically use screw-based actuators and are powered by hydraulic, electric, or manual methods. The lifting element is labeled as a saddle. Lifting jacks are an elementary tool of the industry and are particularly common in automotive applications. 

Lifting a car to change a tire is the most common application, and it is available in RIVERLAKE HYDRAULIC. Other uses include:

• Hovering and leveling steel girders on their footings 
• Leveling heavy machinery in a machine shop 
• Lifting heavy pieces of metal stock 

There are many uses where heavy objects have to be raised using some elementary mechanical principle such as hydraulic, inclined plane, or mechanical screw. Types of Lifting Jacks

There are many different types of lifting jacks available in RIVERLAKE HYDRAULIC, including bottle jack, floor jack, ratchet jack, scissor jack, screw jack, transmission jack, and wheel lifting jack. 

Bottle Jacks

Easy-to-use c jacks mean an effortless lifting of heavy machinery and apparatus, high enough to slide beneath to move it wherever you want to go. These are modest hydraulic lever jacks that use the mechanical benefit of the high-pressure small-diameter piston, driving fluid into a large diameter piston’s cavity or the slave cylinder.

The two are mounted next to each other on the base, and the master is typically pumped up and down by a meek lever that often doubles as the wrench that functions the release valve. They have a humble round saddle on top and a four-sided cast iron base.

They are used mostly for vehicles, but they have many applications then, being so simple and small. The main difficulty is that they must be used standing upright, not on their side of the pumping action will not work correctly.

House Jacks

House jacks are super heavy-duty jacks that are used to raise a whole house. They usually service the screw jack lifting principle and can be provided with or without thrust bearings.

Inflatable Jacks

These are air-powered jacks that are tracked off of a shop compressed air system. They have the benefit of a very low minimum height and high lifting volume.

Disadvantages include being more disposed to air leakage and thus having to have a safety system built in to stop rapid unwanted lowering due to bag failure. 

Ratchet Jacks

Ratchet jacks use the ratchet mechanism that causes a rotary gear to move up a linear track. The ratchet pawls keep the gear from slithering back down under load and causing the jack to fail.

The old-style bumper jack in older cars was a ratchet-style jack. But as they are not very safe and are heavy, they have been superseded by scissor jacks as standard equipment. They are still used in the industry for elating lighter pieces. 

Scissor Jacks

These are simple jacks that have four linked vertical arms. Amid each of the two pairs of vertical arms, there is a female threaded piece where the jacks screw goes finished. The jack is raised by rotating the operating screw, and these are usually found in a car trunk as a varying tire tool due to their compact size.

Scissor jacks provided by automobile manufacturers usually have a shoe to mate to a lifting point in the vehicle’s frame, while the worldwide aftermarket versions have a generic saddle instead. 

Screw Jacks

These jacks operate at full capacity in tension and are available in Translating and KFTN designs. This is a very common sort of jack. It operates under the belief of using the mechanical advantage of the basic screw thread to change the rotary motion of the wrench into the linear motion of the top.

The mechanical advantage is unswervingly related to the pitch. More complex versions of screw jacks are found in machine shops to level out weighty machine tools. 

Service Jacks

These are the pillars of the vehicle repair world, noted and prized for safety, strength, and capacity. They work on the same principle as a bottle jack.

They have a large round saddle that can be detached easily and replaced with different sizes and shoes. The lever also acts as its statement valve actuator by revolving the handle. 

Transmission Jacks

These are specialty jacks used to raise a vehicle’s transmission from the bottom. They are similar to a floor jack but have a big cradle with tie-downs to save the transmission and a way to tilt the transmission cradle so it can tie the angle of the engine it will be bolted to. 

Wheel Lifting Jacks

These are large roll-around floor jacks that can boost a whole vehicle up by the front by cradling the wheels up on the front of the frame.

They have a floor carriage gantry that holds the piston. They are typically hydraulic powered and are generally in small repair shops where a built-in lift is too classy.
