5 Tropical Islands to Visit Even If You’re on a Budget
Paradise Within Reach:
Winter, spring, summer or fall, the time to take an island vacation is always right. There is something restorative and calming about taking a few days to recharge on a beautiful sandy beach. Even if you don’t swim, simply lying on the beach and taking in the beauty and ocean air is enough to put a smile on your face.
You may choose to use cheap Maldives tour packages or plan an island trip for yourself. Either way, you will be glad you took the time to explore and enjoy a beautiful island getaway.
Here are 5 tropical islands to visit, even if you are on a budget:
- Tobago and Trinidad
These two Caribbean islands go hand-in-hand, although they could not be more different. Tobago is a calm and quiet island with beautiful beaches and water sports that are also relaxing like snorkeling.
Trinidad is the island where the shopping and cultural events are taking place. One of the best-known events is the carnival in February, although there are other celebrations throughout the year, only not as big.
- Belize
Located on the eastern coast of Central America, this island getaway boasts beautiful and serene beaches, national parks and Mayan ruins for exploring. There is something for everyone in the family, with equal parts exploration and relaxation.
Snorkeling and scuba diving, fishing, and other water sports, along with exploring the Mayan ruins are exciting ways to spend your day. You could also take a helicopter tour of the island, another inexpensive way to explore and enjoy this tropical getaway.
- Riviera Maya, Mexico
This is actually a peninsula located on the Caribbean coastline. It is best known for its delicious food, beautiful blue-oceanfront beaches, and the Mayan ruins.
There are several coastal towns that can be easily reached from this location. Cozumel, Cancun, Tulum, and Playa Del Carmen are just a few of the exciting destinations you can explore for a day or an evening.
- Little Corn Island, Nicaragua
This is one of Nicaragua’s most famous and laid-back destinations as it is a car-free island and only 1.5 square miles. It is located approximately 50 miles off the mainland and has many different and exciting things to do. From yoga and massages to sailing excursions and volcano exploration and water sports, there is something for everyone. And the beach areas are also something to see.
- Kauai, Hawaii
Most of the Hawaiian islands are somewhat expensive, however, Kauai is the fourth largest island and more reasonably priced for everything from activities to hotel accommodations.
This underdeveloped beauty of an island is a nature-lovers utopia. There are countless areas for exploring and hiking, like tropical rainforests, coastal lines with rocks to dive off of, and beautiful waterfalls. There are also several water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling as well as simply lying on the beach enjoying the sun.
Each of these island getaways is affordable and enjoyable for many different reasons. Depending on what time of year you choose to go on your island adventure, you may be able to save even more.
