The Wonderful World of the DISNEY SODA FOUNTAIN & STUDIO STORE #IronMan3Event
After our tour of the El Capitan, you can read my post here. We were taken on a small tour of the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store. It is amazing just how much they can pack into a store the size of the shoppe.
Ed Collins continued our tour and shared some interesting information with us about the Disney Vault! Mr. Collins says, “People ask me to talk a little bit about the vault. If you have seen the home video, marketing campaign, this is, what we call it- Walt’s Vault. Its the video vault where the videos are kept when they’re not sold. So it was a marketing campaign, it was digital, virtual. When we opened this we teamed up with Home Entertainment to have the real vault at our location in Hollywood.
Honestly, I think this was my favorite part of the Soda Fountain and Studio Store.
Mr. Collins continues:
And if you look at the strip of film that rims the ceiling, that actually reflects the DVDs as they came out starting in 2005. We should probably change this up, guys. But, uh, we kinda like this. And the fun thing for our guests is to see how many of these movies they can name.
I enjoyed hearing about the vault and its purpose, as we have always heard that a movie will return to the vault. I just didn’t realize i was a real thing. I have collected Disney movies since I first got married and have always tried to get them before they go into the vault. I loved how from the vault, and then all around the ceiling rim how it showed each movie as it has come out.
This is just one of the parts of the ceiling that shows the movies as they were released. Below is a section of the Soda Shoppe bar. I thought it was so neat how it looked so retro.
This is one of the displays outside of the Soda Shoppe showing Iron Man 3 memorabilia.
Also I had to take a picture of this wonderful display of stuffed animals because ever since I was little I loved stuffed animals. I even leave my tags on (a habit people do not understand).
