Jackson is the capital city of Mississippi. The Mississippi Freedom Trail runs throughout the entire city and includes many historical sites that were important during the civil rights movement. These sites include the Mississippi State Capitol Building and the Medgar Evers Home Museum. Jackson is also home to the state’s children’s museum, and to the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, which has nature trails and an aquarium.
Jackson was founded in 1821 and is named after General Andrew Jackson, who played a significant role as a general and later became U.S. President. The city has been nicknamed “The City with Soul,” as it’s had much prominent jazz, blues, gospel, and folk musicians. It’s Missippi’s largest metropolitan area and contains one-fifth of Mississippi’s population. As such, the restaurant business in the city has been booming. The five following restaurants are among our favorite places that you can order delivery from in Jackson.
- Downtown Snack Shop
Order from this popular downtown restaurant basically at any time of the day–from 8 am to 9 pm. You can get classic sandwiches like burgers and pulled pork, all with fries. The Snack Shop is also well-known for its chicken and fish dishes, like the Chick on a Stick, their 8 piece Jumbo Shrimp, and the Fish Dinner. Traditional American options are also available, such as mac and cheese, hot dogs, nachos, and fried pickles. This is a top pick on the Waitr App at www.waitrapp.com/cities/ms/jackson/food-delivery.
- Big Apple Inn
You can get delivery from this great restaurant along Farish St. between 8 am and 9 pm. Big Apple Inn is known for its sliders, tamales, and sides, all of which you can have delivered to your doorstep. Sliders are either hamburger, smoked sausage, bologna, or pig ear. Their great turkey tamales are also available, and you can wash everything down with a beverage.

This grill offers delivery all day, starting at 11 am. Order from its lunch menu and have a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes delivered at any time, including nachos, fiesta plates, burrito bowls, chimichangas, taco salads, and tacos. - Piccadilly at Jackson Mall
You can get all your favorite chicken and seafood dishes delivered from Piccadilly’s. It offers classics such as baked fish, fried chicken, fried shrimp, and fried southern fish, but also has some unique dishes like chopped beef steak and broiled liver with grilled onions. Wife, mother, grandma, blogger, all wrapped into one person, although it does not define her these are roles that are important to her. From empty nesters to living with our oldest and 2 grandchildren while our house is rebuilt after a house fire in 10/2018 my life is something new each day.
