The Legend of Mickey Tussler; Overcoming Adversity
The Legend of Mickey Tussler; Overcoming Adversity
This novel by Frank Nappi is another awesome book written by an author I have already come to love. The Legend of Mickey Tussler is based in the 1940s around a 17-year old boy named Mickey Tussler.
Branded a retard by his cruel father in a time when autism wasn’t understood; Mickey overcomes adversity when he is discovered by Milwaukee Brewer’s manager, Arthur Murphy as a pitcher for his team. You will want to route for Mickey throughout the book and look forward to reading another one of Nappi’s book’s “Sophomore Campaign“.
I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a story about when baseball wasn’t about all the money and crazy fans. It’s a feel-good story in my opinion and you will not want to put it down until the end.
