Visiting TomorrowLand at Disneyland During our #TomorrowLandEvent

Disclosure: **Disney provided me with a full expense paid trip to Los Angeles for the #TomorrowlandEvent in exchange for my review of the events of the trip.  No other compensation was given. All opinions are my own.**

Visiting Disneyland is an experience in itself.  As you walk in there are parents walking with their children, Disney characters and the smell of delicious treats and food.  You look around and wonder to yourself, “where do you start” in such a magnificent park.   The smiles on children’s faces, some dressed up as their favorite princess or character all the while the feeling of amazement that one feels in such a magical place.

Ok back to why I am writing this post, sorry I got lost in the memory of our visit that day.  Since we were in California for the #TomorrowlandEvent, we ventured a visit where Walt Disney’s dreams came to life.

Disneyland Tomorrowland

Once we all were somewhat settled we were introduced to our guide Tyler.   He told us all about the upcoming Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.

Activities will Include:

Beginning May 22, 2015, make way to the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.  Guests of every age can celebrate 60 years of Disney magic with dazzling entertainment and sparkling surprises.  There will be 3 new nighttime spectaculars making their in-park debuts:

  • Disneyland Forever:  More than a fireworks spectacular, it’s a street-to-sky experience sure to leave you in wonderment.
  • Disney Paint the Night Parade: Soak in the glow of one million colorful lights during the brightness and most vibrant parade in the 60-year history of the Disneyland Resort.
  • World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney: Follow Walt Disney’s incredible journey from his earliest creations,— to his first visions for Disneyland Park to today’s Disney magic… and more!it's a small world collage

When we first went into the park we rode the “It’s a Small World” ride as a group.  I happened to be at the front of the line when we walked up to ride.  So when the lady asked how many were in our party, I said, “28”.  She looked at me like I was kidding.  I loved this ride as a small child.  So as we entered the doors it was like I transformed into that small child.  Only this time, I had my camera phone, and I will admit, I was a bit camera happy.

Tomorrowland represents the visions and fantasy of futurists such as H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and, Walt Disney himself of course.  While you are there you can zoom through Space Mountain, experience 3-D fun in “Captain EO”, and travel through the galaxy in Star Tours.  Maybe you would enjoy driving racecars and spend some time with the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride. I will admit I really enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride.  The excitement of shooting lasers at targets as they pop up gave me the feeling of power.  Well until my riding companion, Louise Bishop from Mom Start crushed me in the points area.  She said it was her highest score ever; of course this was later after she had originally told me she “wasn’t good at this game.”  I give her props, she is one sharp laser shooter.  Other rides in Tomorrowland are  Space Mountain,  Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage,  Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and more.

With Tomorrowland opening in theaters tomorrow May 22, 2015 this is one time, if possible that you will want to not only go to the movie BUT get to Disneyland and enjoy their 60th Anniversary Celebration.
