The Good Dinosaur on Blu-ray Review

The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur started off with a flashback into the beginning millions of years ago.  Everything changes What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely, and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? In this epic journey into the world of dinosaurs, an apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of. The perfect adventure for the whole family stampedes home on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere February 23.

I loved how the creators at Pixar brought the dinosaurs to life in the west setting the stage for the rest of the movie.  The family of Dinosaurs are homesteading which was a way of life in the west, bringing to life three dinosaurs Libby, Buck and at long last Arlo.  The family plans on taking care of the farm together showing that with hard work anything is possible.  A little sibling rivalry takes place as with any family and the “baby” Arlo is of course blamed for messing things up.  But his parents encourage him to make his mark on the world, but you have to get through your fear to get to the beauty on the other side.

The Good Dinosaur

After Arlo was given a “job” to help the family he set out to be strong, to get his mark on the silo but his fears go the best of him and Spot was introduced.  If you can find the river you can find the way home started the journey to find Spot, but ended up taking Arlo’s Papa.

Arlo was more determined than ever to help his mom out but Spot makes an appearance once more causing a little more trouble for Arlo.   I will not spoil any of the movie&nbsp, but it is definitely one you will enjoy with your children if you haven’t already!

Being a parent of 3 children it seemed each age brought a new set of challenges, as I am sure many parents can relate.   Each growing stage of their life bring up challenges that we all face in our day to day lives.   At the end of the day, we only want the best for our children.
We spend our days trying to pass down traditions, support them financially, emotionally and of course, make them good, responsible adults.   There are always going to be times that the parent/child(ren) don’t see eye to eye and it creates conflict.   But the moral of the story is to keep on trying and doing what you are doing because in the end the kids will benefit from it and thank you for it later in life!  (at least, we all look forward to that happening).

The Filmmakers Journey-Director Peter Sohn and team share their experience of making the movie.  We had a one on one meeting with Peter and this clip tells the story perfectly!
Hide and Seek is a short animated promotion clip, True lies about Dinosaurs and the differences between the “real” dinosaurs and the ones in the movie.  There are many more great features that you will have to watch soon!
