Holiday Red Velvet Pound Cake with Thick Cream Cheese Glaze

Holiday Red Velvet Pound Cake with Thick Cream Cheese Glaze
With the holiday parties around the corner wouldn’t it be great to take an easy pound cake that looks like you spent hours on? The only “hour” you will have to take up is the hour it bakes!
This is a popular one in our home as it puts 2 of our favorite items together, red velvet and a cream cheese thick glaze. As you can see mine is more brown than red. That is because I used chocolate pudding when in fact a box of cheesecake pudding or vanilla would give it the red look it should have.
Below you will find the recipe, Enjoy!
- 1 pkg red velvet cake mix (straight from the box)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 sm. instant vanilla (or cheesecake) pudding mix (straight from the box)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 pkg vanilla or chocolate chips (your choice).
- Thick Glaze Ingredients & Directions
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 1 package of powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk (if it is too thick you can add 1 tablespoon at a time.)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine 1st 5 ingredients.
- Mix well for 4 minutes.
- Gently stir in vanilla or chocolate chips.
- Pour into well greased and floured Bundt pan and bake.
- Bake approximately 1 hour (generally takes the full time).
- Let cool then carefully turn the cake onto a plate.
- Once cool you can drizzle.
