Million Dollar Arm: True Story Adaptation Analysis
Million Dollar Arm: True Story Adaptation Analysis
Directed by Craig Gillespie, Million Dollar Arm is based on a true story.
JB Bernstein (John Hamm) concocts a scheme to find baseball’s next great pitcher. In his last ditch effort to save his career as a sports agent. JB Travels to India to set up (produce) a reality show competition called “Million Dollar Arm”. He is hoping to find a young cricket pitcher that he can turn into a major league baseball star.
While in India, JB discovers two 18 year old boys, Dinesh and Rinku who have NO idea about playing baseball, but have a great fast ball. While the boys learn the finer points of baseball, JB with the help of his easy-going and charming friend Brenda (Lake Bell) learns a valuable life lesson about commitment, teamwork and what being a family really is.
Although I felt the story took a little bit to get going; once it did, I didn’t want to leave my seat. This to me was a feel good, family movie about love, working together and paying attention to the ones who love you.
