Cupcakes…. always a treat. There are so many different ideas and creativity when it comes to making cupcakes. When I saw this pan I could see all of the possibilities. This cupcake pan makes it look like you spent all day, when you only have to spend as much time as you would on a normal pan of cupcakes.
When I found out I was going to have the opportunity to review this Mrs. Fields Half-n-Half Cupcake Pan, I was quite intrigued. I decided that I was going to do a Christmas/Holiday theme. I had it all planned that I would purchase a Red Velvet cake mix as well as a vanilla cake mix and dye the white green. I was so excited when I went to the store and behold there was a cake mix box with a duo of Red and Green Velvet all in 1 box. I decided to also use cream cheese frosting and top them with red and green pearls. To make an easy cream cheese frosting all I do is put a 1# bag of powdered sugar, 1 package of cream cheese, and milk to your liking.
This cupcake pan comes non-stick, but I did spray them since I didn’t use liners, and has a plastic insert to help you separate your colors. Once you are done filling each side to the top, you have to carefully remove the plastic insert piece. (I will be honest, it took me a bit longer than a normal cupcake pan would, only because I didn’t want to have them mix in on top.) So sorry for the messy picture. Now they are all ready to bake.
All I had to do was follow the baking instructions on the box, easy peasy. I have to admit this pan helped me make awesome cupcakes as they all were perfectly baked. Part of me thinks it was the insert as I was able to fill them to a certain point without making them too full. When I saw the tops I was a little concerned about getting them out of the pan without breaking the tops.
I was so happy when they came right out of the pan. They looked just like I was expecting. The possibilities are really endless on what you can achieve with this pan. You could do chocolate and vanilla (or white cake), strawberry and vanilla, blue velvet and confetti. Then there are muffin choices. You could do blueberry and cinnamon streusel, chocolate chip and chocolate, plus many more. Fun for children’s birthday parties, graduation parties and weddings.
