When Buying is Better
Buying is always the better option if you’re serious about your game. You cannot become a great player when you don’t know which clubs you will be using next. Buying also means that you can have the clubs fitted. That is a huge advantage and will allow you to improve on your swing much faster. It will also make playing much more fun and you’ll feel much more comfortable.

What About Borrowing?

Again, it all depends on your budget and how serious you are. Borrowed clubs could be enough for you to test the waters and see if you’re actually into golfing. But they should only be a temporary solution.
