Must-See Places in Southeast Asia for Stunning Photographs

Travel

Once we have fully recovered from the pandemic, why not plan a trip to Southeast Asia? Many people consider Southeast Asia to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the culture, gastronomy, and of course, stunning beaches and rainforests. There are so many places to see that it can be tough to choose the ideal ones to maximize your stay there. Fortunately, we have got you covered. Here’s a list of the best 5 sites where you can have fun while simultaneously taking gorgeous shots for your blog or Instagram, whether you’re using your iPhone or a DSLR camera.

Cameron Highlands, Malaysia

The first destination you should go to is Cameron Highlands, which is in the Malaysia’s state of Pahang. The scenic highlands were named after a British geologist, Sir William Cameron, and were modeled after a traditional English town.

Malaysia has sunny weather all year, so it is nice to experience some colder weather up on the hill, where English influences can be found across the region. There is a lot to do here, but one of the highlights is a visit to a tea plantation, where you can see the lush green terraces and learn everything about tea.

In terms of accommodation, you can stay in classic-style colonial buildings and enjoy traditional delights like English scones and teas. If you enjoy extreme sports, hike Mount Brinchang to an observation tower where you can take in the breathtaking panorama and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

Nusa Island, Indonesia

As the world’s largest archipelago, Indonesia has something to offer, and Nusa Island is one of them. The Nusa Islands, which include Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan, are accessible via a short ferry journey from Bali.

What you can do here is explore the north coast’s sandy beach, which faces the picturesque Nusa Ceningan. With its crystal pure water, you can go diving or snorkeling here. You can also go trekking in the Tembeling forest or boating among the otherworldly mangroves.

If you prefer not to do any adventure activities, the Nusa Islands are also a wonderful place to relax and get away from the crowds in Bali. You can easily spend a day or two cycling around Nusa Lembongan, enjoying the tranquillity.

Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Stay away from popular tourist destinations such as Krabi and Phuket and head to the Thai province of Kanchanaburi, which is only 130 kilometers from Bangkok. This region is rich in natural beauty and breathtaking scenery.

There are plenty of spots to relax in this province as you explore the beautiful natural waterfalls and abundant hot springs. The province is also rich in culture, notably from World War II, when the Japanese came here and constructed the Death Railway, which took the lives of thousands of innocent people. You can see the remnants of this by visiting the Death Railway Museum. If you like elephants, Elephant World is a must-visit place for you. You can not only feed them here but also play with them and bathe them in the river.

El Nido, Philippines

Palawan’s El Nido is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Philippines. If you enjoy being in the water, this is the place to be.

Besides that, you can also add some extra activities to your vacation, such as kayaking in the three main spots, Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, and Miniloc Island. There will be lots of tour operators accessible to borrow kayaks and provide you with a map as well as directions to your destination.

Sapa, Vietnam

The last destination is Sapa, located in Vietnam’s northern mountains. Here you can find a collection of small villages that are home to some of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities, making it one of the countries with a rich and unique culture.

Another highlight of the journey is stopping in one of the mountain bars for a drink and admiring the gorgeous scenery. You will enjoy the mist creeping across the gloomy scenery and gaze out over the emerald, green valley below from here.

Check out the Silver Waterfalls as well. The Love Waterfall is located just up the path from Silver Waterfalls and is steeped in local folklore. Locals will tell you that fairies used to bathe in the waters here, and the hard journey to both waterfalls is well worth it for the beautiful surroundings.
